Description of Services

Falls and Safety Programs are directly supported by SPHM resources. Strong SPHM programming, culture and resources increases patient and caregiver safety while providing pertinent measurables to demonstrate a positive return on investment (ROI). Assessing the facility’s current state is the first step in Sustaining Safety in your organization.

Description of Services

Implementing a culture of SAFETY in an organization requires a change of culture hospital-wide. Staff workshops can be set up according to a facility’s individual needs. Ongoing data collection and immediate injury evaluation/education support can be provided remotely.

Implementation Components:

      • Staff roles/responsibilities
      • Implement new/additional resources (BMAT, Falls Assessment, Mobility Protocols, toileting program, purposeful rounding, falls identifiers, etc.)
      • Facilitate new best practices integration (SPHM-Falls Prevention overlap and integration)

      • Evaluate fall prevention practices, implement enhanced falls interventions, unit-based patient population recommendations for falls prevention.


Description of Services

Remote clinical consultation will be provided throughout Safety programming trial period. Following goal deadlines, a hard-copy of data analysis and evaluation will be provided as well as modified goals.

Ergonomics Assessments

Description of Services

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) “Ergonomics Program Standard” (2000-repealed March 2001) contains the requirements for most non-construction employers to identify and abate musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). A Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS) will conduct an Ergonomic Assessment and written review to provide the current state of employee tasks, propose opportunities for improvement to increase worker comfort and efficiency, and list solutions for risk reduction and control. All assessment tools are evidence-based and created by OSHA.

Each of our clinical consultants have real clinical experience in Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) and represent all levels of care. Our Director of Clinical Services co-authored and co-investigated the Bedside Mobility Assessment Tool (BMAT), an evidence-based mobility assessment for nurses. Our clinical consultants each bring personal experience and passion to the company. SUSTAINABLE seeks to offer program support to every facility through custom consultation and FREE resources.
